Everlasting Words.

Everlasting Words.

It is the beginning of another summer and when we look around we see all plants bloomed with such pretty flowers and trees covered with green leaves, flowers and fruits. It’s truly amazing the different varieties of flowers we can see around us in different colour, smell and shape. But when we closely examine this, we see those pretty flowers they last for a week or two and then they fades off and dies down and it’s the same with leaves, grass, fruits etc. it doesn’t matter how beautiful the flower is but after a week or two it has to die then we got to wait until another flower blossom and grow.

The Word of God (Bible) can also be compared to a beautiful big tree with great perfume. It attracts many people by it’s beautiful flowers the words written in it and with the wonderful aroma of God’s presence. It’s fruits gives life to whoever reads it and the leaves give shadow for those who are tired and need rest in life. The branches are supports to those who are weary in life. But unlike the other trees this tree won’t shed it’s leaves nor flowers or fruits and they stand for ever and ever.

“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” (Isaiah 40:8 NIV)

Before we look into the Word of God it’s good to know some particularities of Word of God the Bible. Bible contains 66 books written by 40 different authors who been living in different times and from different backgrounds. The first book Genesis is written by Moses who lived around 1500 BC and the author of last book Revelation was written by Apostle John in around 90 AD. There is a gap of more than 1500 years between the first and last authors but from Genesis to Revelation the Bible seems to appear as if it’s written by a single author. Again the 40 authors were from different cultural backgrounds. Some were shepherds, fishermen, tax collectors but there are doctors, ministers, kings and many others. But as said above even though Bible is written in such a long period of time and by different authors it appears to be all written by a single author and every verse connects with every other verse in the Bible. There are no contradictions.

This is because it is not just written by 40 people but it’s the God’s Holy Spirit made those 40 people to write these 66 books. Even though it dates back to 2000 years today after the last book is written, we still not found anything wrong in Bible. Almost all prophesies have taken place and only the prophesies of the second coming of Jesus and the end of the world is left but the current situations in the world prompts the second coming of Jesus and end of the world more closer to anyone can imagine.

Bible had gone through very tough situations. It has passed many wars and centuries and till today not even a word has proven wrong. The bible has the answer to all questions. The creation of the universe to the end of the world, how to live and life after death and everything. Several scientific principles are also written in it. It has areas of Physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, astronomy, literature and all fields of knowledge as it’s said in the book of Isaiah.

“Look in the scroll of the Lord and read: None of these will be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is his mouth that has given the order, and his Spirit will gather them together. He allots their portions; his hand distributes them by measure. They will possess it forever and dwell there from generation to generation.” (Isaiah 34:16, 17 NIV)

The birth of Jesus was prophesied by the great prophet Isaiah who lived 750 years before Jesus was born. Isaiah when prophesied people would have laughed at him as it is impossible even today to believe a virgin giving birth to a child. But Isaiah when filled with Holy Spirit he prophesied the birth of Jesus as He will be the son of a virgin and he even prophesied about the crucification of Jesus. He prophesied and he died people in those ages thought it’s not true. But after 750 years when it was God’s time Jesus was born to Mary while Mary was a virgin through Holy Spirit and Jesus suffered all the pain as said in Isaiah 53 during his crucification. Thus Bible shows the credibility of it’s unchanging words.

All this is because Bible was not written by anyone but it was God himself who anointed people with His Holy Spirit and made them to write as we the verse above said. And so Bible appears to be written as one book under a single author with a single difference of having great Life in it while it speaks to the hearts of anyone according to the mindset whoever reads the Bible while other books have no life in them. This makes the Bible or the Word of God distinct from other books in the world.

Now I will draw your attention to certain words from Bible where God testifies about itself and like to conclude this thought.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1 NIV)

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. (Matthew 24:35 NIV)

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. (Isaiah 54:10 NIV)

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. (2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV)

For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:18 NIV)

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:8-11 NIV)

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. (Revelation 22:18-20 NIV)

Which other Book in the whole world has challenged anyone like this with so many verses from different parts which testifies the authenticity of Word of God? Therefore believe in God and read the Word of God and obey his commandments. For god says- “Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? (Jeremiah 23:29 NIV) and in Hebrews 4:12 says- “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:12, 13 NIV).20140629-092403-33843124.jpg
