Paths are inevitable parts of our life. Everyday when we get into our car and drive off we simply don’t choose to ride through anywhere but through the paths or roads what the government has build for our safety and for the safety of others who are around us. We cannot drive our cars on the walk way or through somebody’s property but we drive it through the specific road designed for driving and follow the traffic rules in order to reach where we need to reach safely.
This is the same with our lives. We cannot simply drive through anywhere but we need to follow certain path and rules in order to lead a victorious life. “All roads lead to Rome” was a famous proverb but it’s not true to succeed in life. You cannot simply take any road but a specific road to reach your ultimate goal.
Life is a journey which runs from one place birth to another place death. Like any other roads the path of life goes through different areas like plains, hills, mountains, valleys, tunnels and flyovers. It’s not always smooth but has rough and hard terrains in the road of Life. And the sides of road leads to great trenches. Therefore we need to be extra cautious while going this road.
As we go through the path of life we reach at a junction where we see two roads ahead of us. One broad way and one narrow way. Which path do you choose?
It is our tendency to take the broad way as there will be less traffic and get to the place more easily and quickly. We know when we travel on highways we find a lot of businesses like many fast food shops, automobile business, hotels, motels and many other businesses around than on narrow byroads. But in the path of life even though the broad way seems nice, easy and comfortable it leads to destruction where as the narrow way you might not find all these comforts as in broad way but it leads to everlasting life (heaven) and very few people go through it.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14 NIV).
The way to heaven is hard and we need someone to lead us. This is why In John 14:6- Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Jesus is the path and so you are not alone while going through the narrow path. Things might appear hard and great difficult and dangerous but don’t be afraid for Jesus is with you actually you are on him. In times of trouble trust God and remember “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105 NIV). He will guide us how to overcome all difficulties. For without his knowledge nothing will happen to you and God will never allow anything more than you can afford. Therefore trust God and follow his commandments according to Bible you will be able to overcome all the troubles and reach your ultimate goal Heaven.
The ones who travel on narrow roads may appear fools to those who take the broad way and they might shower a lot of insults but just bear them and keep going you will reach everlasting life while those who went on broad way of sin will reach death. Therefore my dear readers if any of you are running in the broad way the pleasures of life – “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:19-21 NIV)- please turn around and come back to the junction where you see an old rugged cross which reminds of your Saviour Jesus who died and paid all the debts of your sin, accept him in your life and get into the narrow road and lead a holy and victorious Christian life according to Bible you will reach the greatest achievement of your life to be with God forever and ever.
There are no shortcuts from the broad way to the narrow way so please turn around before you get too far where you cannot turn back. For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2 NIV)
“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them. But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. (Malachi 4:1-2 NIV)
Therefore be careful repent and come back to the cross and accept Jesus Christ in life and lead a holy life according to God you will be saved from the first group and will be with the second group of people said in the verse above.
“who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.” (Hebrews 11:33-40 NIV)
Therefore let’s be wise and meet God along with those great men who suffered all pains and even sacrificed there lives for choosing the narrow path in life on that Glorious Day when Jesus come back to gather his children.
“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 NIV)
