Our lives are always not comfortable. One or another way when we try to keep things as smooth as possible new problems start to arise from no where making it more difficult to handle the situation. Often we succeed in overcoming the daily challenges. But what happens when things get bigger? How you can handle big troubles?
For example we all know the economic crisis happened in USA during 2007-2008. When everyone thought things were all going good, it so happened to have a blow of economic recession out of no where and it changed the lives of many as many who had been working in great places and positions when came for job as every other day they found they lost their companies shut down and lost jobs and were stranded with a big question at life what’s next?! Nobody had any control on it and had no idea how to overcome it.
What will you do in these circumstances? Why does these things happen? A similar situation can be found in Bible. When we come to the book of Exodus we see Israelites who went to Egypt as the brothers and relatives of the Great Minister who was second to Pharaoh Joseph in Genesis have become slaves under the Egyptians.
The Egyptians made there life very hard by making them to do hard work. They made their lives bitter with harsh labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their harsh labor the Egyptians worked them ruthlessly. (Exodus 1:14 NIV) And so they were so tired and weak. On top of this to make things worse Pharaoh made a new order -Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.” (Exodus 1:22 NIV)
What a terrible command. The state of people went so miserable. And this is the time when Moses was born to an Israel family. But seeing the child they couldn’t throw him in the Nile river as per Pharaoh’s command. So they hid him for three months.
Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. (Exodus 2:1-2 NIV).
Imagine the state of the family, they were very happy and excited to have the baby but when they found they couldn’t keep him because of Pharaoh’s rule there heart went pale still they hid him for three months. They might have thought why did God did this to them? Why couldn’t He give them a girl child? Wouldn’t it be so much better if they had a girl child rather than a boy child? Why did God allow Pharaoh to make such order?
They might be so much worried and living in tension what if somebody inform Pharaoh about him they will all be dead. So they had to throw him in river Nile but they didn’t feel to do that so they made a small basket out of papyrus and coated with tar and pitch to waterproof and placed the baby inside and put the basket in river Nile. They were so sad and left all the hope to see him again. His sister Miriam was watching from ashore to see what will happen to the baby.
When they all lost there hopes and expected everything’s over there comes the princess of Egypt with her maids to take shower in the river Nile that day and they found the basket and when they opened it they found the baby. The princess adopted him as her child and called him Moses as he was drawn from water!
Miriam ran to her and asked if she wants a mother to take care of the baby and she brought her mother. The princess handed baby Moses back to her mother and gave money to look after him. Thus Moses became the first ever child to grow with all Child Benefits in the whole world!
See what a strange incident! An incident which happened to be a tragedy has now changed to a blessing in life! They not only got their baby back but they even got finances and other benefits from the same Pharaoh who ordered to kill him! See the mysterious way of God! What an amazing and awesome God we serve!
Similarly things can occur very bad to us. We might loose all hopes of living. Whatever and whichever places we thought could help may not help us but when we loose all hopes and think it’s the end, here comes God your Saviour with greater plans to deliver you from yourtroubles. Therefore let’s trust Him more and go in His paths. For He cares for us and His plans and thoughts are far much greater to us.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV)
“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” (Psalm 37:5-7 NIV)
“Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10 NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 NIV)
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7 NIV)
