We all know two third of earth is covered with water and there is only one third of land. Out of this one third around 33% is desert. Deserts are vast areas of landmass on earth with literally nothing but sand in it. There is no water, no plants or animals as the climate is very extreme in these places. The day time temperature reaches upto 130 deg F and at night can reach to 40 deg F. This extreme variation in climate makes it harsh to sustain any form of life in deserts.
It is very difficult to pass through a dessert as once you enter a desert all you see is endless mass of sand around you! You can easily get lost as all areas looks alike around you. Therefore proper equipments and precautions needs to be taken while going these areas.
At times we pass through harsh areas of deserts in our lives. We get hopeless and tired not knowing how and where to go. We look around for help but can’t find anyone to guide us. Things seems impossible around us. It is very hard to pass such situation in life. To those who go through such hard things in life I have a good news for you! You are not alone in your journey. Whether you know or not your God who created you is right beside you. He watches over you. Wherever you fall you fall in his hands and whenever you fall He picks you up and hold your hands and guide you how and where to go.
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” (John 14:18 NIV)
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20 NIV)
The one who said I am with you is right beside you. He is able to bring you out of any sort of difficulty you are in, for He is an everlasting God and His words remain the same yesterday, today and forever! He is not man to lie and God can never lie. Therefore be strong when you go through tough situations of desert in life. When you think there is no way out of the problem you are in God is right beside you, put your trust in Him, He can change everything and bring you out of your troubles.
“The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs. I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set junipers in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together, so that people may see and know, may consider and understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.” (Isaiah 41:17-20 NIV)
Oh what a mighty promise is that! Who can ever give more promise than that! It doesn’t matter what your current situation is. It might be barren height or valley or desert or parched ground. They appear to be of no value and of no resources. But God is able to bring forth rivers to flow in barren heights, springs to arise in valleys, he will convert the desert into pool of water and parched ground into springs.
Again God is going to change the appearance of desert. He’s no longer going to make the barren desert a desert anymore! He’s going to put in the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive in the desert and will set junipers, fir and the cypress together in the so called wasteland. Therefore don’t be worried on your present situation.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.” (Isaiah 43:18-21 NIV)
You might appear of no use to many but God is able to convert your appearance of desert to a dense forest with lots of trees and rivers and lot of animals in it. Like animals depends on forest to live God will change you to a forest so that you will become a support and resource to many others for living.
God is able to transform your barren desert to beautiful garden. Therefore trust in him for He will show your way out of troubles and lead you to great blessings.
“The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.” (Isaiah 51:3 NIV)
“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” (Isaiah 58:11-12 NIV)
“The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God. Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.” Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow. And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.” (Isaiah 35:1-10 NIV)
