Bridges & Flyovers!
We drive through the highways almost every day for different purposes like going to work, shopping etc and the bridges and flyovers on the way are familiar to us. In fact, they have become a part of us for when we reach each bridge and flyover we automatically change lanes and take the relevant path to our destination. Bridges and flyovers both have the same purpose ‘connecting lands.‘ Bridge connects between two land mass covering the gulf between them, were as flyover it connect the same piece of land which is already connected. If the land is already connected, why do we need a flyover? Well the purpose of the flyover is to reduce the traffic on road by elevating the main road as a bridge and allowing the cross roads to pass beneath it, thereby reducing traffic congestion, saving the time taken to reach places, safety etc.
Our life is similar to roads. On our path we often encounter problems like the crossroads. This makes us get delay in our path by stopping us from moving ahead. We at times need to wait until the traffic on the cross road get clear and then move forward for our safety. Same way in life we often encounter problems like the crossroads and we get stuck in life. We struggle until the problems get over and then move forward to our destination. But as in the road the crossroads keep coming and make us wait at every junction.
This can be related to the Bible. God created Adam and Eve in his own image and likeness and made them to live in the Garden of Eden. They had a good relationship with God as God used to come and visit them in the garden every evening. But as you know Satan deceived Adam and Eve. This created a big gulf between the God and Man. As God is holy and the Holy God cannot come to man for the man will be dead because of his sin. But as It is said in the Gospel of John “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NIV). God so loved the world and he wanted to regain the lost mankind and regardless of the fact God loved his son Jesus, God loved the world more than Jesus and send Jesus for the redemption of our sins and He did it by His death on the Cross of Calvary by giving the very last drop of blood in his body. Therefore, anyone who accepts they are a sinner and believe Jesus is the son of God who came to this world for the redemption of sins and He died on the cross of Calvary and God raised him from dead and repent their sins and accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour in heart and declare by mouth their sins are forgiven. “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9 NIV). Thus the gulf between man and God was closed by building a ‘bridge‘ ‘Jesus‘ through His death on the Cross of Calvary! Let’s be the part of bridge by proclaiming Jesus to the unknown.
‘Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV)
The moment you accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life, Jesus will come into your heart. He will stay in your heart and fill your heart with divine peace and be with you for the rest of your life by leading you in the paths of righteousness. This is why people change completely as they accept Jesus in their life. Jesus will transform your life by taking away all the bad habits in life. He will renew a new spirit and life in you. As Apostle Paul said – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV).
Therefore, Jesus lives in a born again person’s life and it’s no longer you, but Jesus takes control of your life. Now your life has completely changed. It’s no longer like how you travelled through the byroads before meeting Jesus, but now you are travelling through the highway. It’s not that the crossroads of problems don’t come across the highway, but as Jesus is with you He will help you to go over the problems like the flyovers in highway and help you to overcome the problems and reach your final destination Heaven more faster, effectively and safely as it said in Isaiah- “I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up.” (Isaiah 49:11 NIV)
Therefore, my dear friends, if you are struggling with problems and wandering for answers in your life let me introduce Jesus into your life. Jesus is the only answer for any problem in life. Accept Jesus and lead a holy life God will transform your life and it won’t be the same ever before. He will come to you and be with you throughout your life, He will guide you, protect you and help you in every situation and circumstance you are in and will deliver you from all your troubles. He will make ways where it seems impossible! For He said He will lead you until the very last breath of your life and He will take you to His place Heaven to be with Him forever! Will you accept Jesus in your life today?
When Israel was freed from the yoke of slavery of Egypt under the leadership of Moses, God set them from Egypt to the promised land. They set forth a great crowd of more than 600,000 men, their wives and children, giving a total around 4,000,000 people with their animals and possessions to the promise land. They reached up to the Gulf of Aqaba where they were surrounded by high mountains and they couldn’t move forward as in front of them was the Red Sea! On top of this they saw Pharaoh and his army following Israelites to seize them to put them slaves again. People cried unto Moses and Moses was just a normal human as you and me and didn’t know what to do. Moses was helpless. He cried out to God and as you know God acted through the stick of Moses that when Moses lifted the stick towards the Red Sea, the sea split apart, making a highway in the middle of the Red Sea through which the whole of Israel crossed followed by Pharaoh and his army. But God made Moses to point his stick again at sea and the sea came to its normal state killing Pharaoh and his armies there by God giving Israel a great victory over Egypt. (Please go through Exodus 14)
See what they faced was not a way through the forest or a hard terrain, but an impossible terrain- the sea! Nobody could believe what God did for them. God made a way through the sea. The same God who made a way through the sea is telling you- “This is what the Lord says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.” (Isaiah 43:16-21 NIV)
Oh, what a great promise! The same God who made a way through the sea is going to make way for the worst problem you are facing today. It doesn’t matter what your past is but since you accepted Jesus in your life, Jesus is going to do a new thing in your life now. He is going to make a solution, a way, an answer to the worst problem you been facing! Yes, he’s making a way in the wilderness of your problems and he’s bringing water to come as streams in the wasteland! Wasteland is considered waste land because there is no life due to lack of water. But God is changing the terrain of waste land by bringing water to flow as streams and filling the wasteland to a fertile land! God is going to change all the things of waste land in your life to the fruitful fertile land. He is going to bring the river of blessing over the problem of waste land and transform it to a fruitful land. And this is going to be a blessing for not only you, but for others who doesn’t know Jesus for they will come to you for help and through you they will know Jesus and praise the amazing God! Oh, what a mighty promise! Will you accept Jesus in your life today?
